Anyone Else watching this show?

I know you're out there! So what do you think of it. I've watched 2 episodes and am hooked. Breckenridge is one of the coolest towns anywhere. It's been many many years since I've been there though.

The show is ok. I don't like the duo the show is centered on. They seem like *beep* once they got some cash. I have watched 2 episodes and I'm not sure how I feel about it.

I will say $25 a gram, legal or not, is a rip off. No wonder Colorado is making so much in taxes. No marijuana is worth that price.

I also don't like how greedy the two shop owners are. They are making all marijuana people look bad. I just think the show puts out a bad image.

reply

Um yeah, it's definitely gone up in price now that it's Legal. Something like $31 a gram is what I heard on the show (including taxes). From my rough estimate the price has multiplied 10 times since I was in high school!

BUT it's legal. Think of it the way that one dude from Mexico in the first show put it. It's putting it in the hands of LEGAL shop owners and out of the hands of criminals. And giving Colorado a heck of a lot of tax revenue.

I probably couldn't even afford it now. As far as the money the couple is making, what did you expect? Maybe money corrupts. The gorgeous house, the expensive clothes, the hair. To be perfectly honest I could not tell one bit of difference from her hair before and after the foil highlights though!

reply

Pricing is only so high because only 5 states have it legally recreational. Once more states begin to legalize it the price will fall.

The market will fall out if it remains at $25/gram after a majority of the US has legalized it. I could go to a dealer and get a gram for $15 and an eight for between $40 and $60. If governments want to destroy the criminals then they'll need to have lower or matching prices.

reply

Haha you're probably right. I didn't mean to imply anyone selling it is a "criminal". I think it's unfortunate it's illegal at all. And it's better the whole industry be totally legal.

yeah, we just discovered it this weekend, watched first cpl epi's and will try to catch up soon.

Mostly I am astonished how dumb it is to advertise to the whole world that you have this much cash on hand on a daily basis.. that is just stupid crazy.

Breckenridge looks really nice.. all of Colorado does (never been there).

reply

I live in Colorado. Brekenridge is gorgeous. But you have to be a bazillionaire to even consider living there. All of Colorado has a high cost of living.

I know what you mean about them revealing and stressing how they have so much cash on hand. The only thing I can figure, well a couple of things. One it's the plain truth. Maybe they think by getting the truth out there the Law can change quicker to make things more safe (The business can only accept cash currently by Law).

Maybe the TV show creators think it's good entertainment, keep you on the edge of your seat. They may not always have the best interests of the real people in reality shows in mind.

we have seen all the current epi's now.. still just astonished re the place they have put themselves in by advertising so much info on this show. Now the whole world knows:

A) large amount of MJ is transported to the place by an unarmed dude.
b) large amounts of cash is lying about on a daily basis, again, totally unsecured.
c) where they grow all the stuff
4) where they live

etc... etc...

I hope no one gets hurt, but it is hard to imagine they will escape criminals notice just because they are located in Breckenridge.

The owner gal seems really nice, the guy not so much.

He seems overly driven to succeed at all costs. He almost seemed to be longing for an event like one he described that would result in a "Caitlyn's Law", so he could use that as a political hammer to bash his opponents over the head with.
