Ana's Promotion Speech

Did anyone else crack up when they realized Dakota Johnson gave the exact, Word-for-word, speech her mother did from Working Girl?

reply

That was the point. It was a tribute to her mum, Dakota Johnson talked about it in interviews.

reply

It was a very touching tribute. But I didn't know about any interview. It caught me off guard.

I loved it. I let out a yay and a clap in the theatre!

Auntie Mame: Live! Life's a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death!

reply

Yes!! I laughed when I heard it and realized it was her mother's speech from Working Girl. I hoped not to be the only one who picked that up!

reply

What was the speech?? Ive seen working girl I dont remember a speech??

reply

They're referring to the scene when she is now her coworker's boss and the girl says something like, "Do I have to start calling you Miss (last name)?" and Ana says, "No, you can keep calling me Ana and you don't have to fetch me a cup of coffee unless you're already getting one for yourself."
It was cute, but it's highly unlikely that she will be repeating her mom's Golden Globe win and Oscar nomination.
