Different topic than this movie, but what did you think of "Pretty Woman"? This is a movie that basically told young women that it's okay to prostitute yourself. And that it's fine for a guy to buy women this way. It's a glorified--and better movie--than FSD, but I'm curious to know what you "feminists" think of "Pretty Woman." Do you agree that it sends the wrong message? Or are you still that bitter and on a hangover from the train wreck that is FSD and you just don't want to talk about it?

Your title says ladies but then your paragraph says feminist. I don't understand. Do you want all women to respond or just feminist?

As a non feminist I'll respond. To me a movie is a movie. Especially since I work in the industry. I'm only bothered by "reality" TV. Scripted is all cool cause it's like playing doll house for adults. I think a creator should do whatever they want, not what someone thinks they should do. When I watch these fifty Shades movies and books, it's all for pure entertainment. Same way men/women look at porn or something. You don't really take it serious, is just something to do on your free time. Women watch these movies out of boredom and something to talk about.

"Feminist" is not meant to be a political term. I think that all people should support women's rights.

Anyways, I agree that movies are entertainment, but they can create some negative effects, particularly with some people who don't just know how powerful or influential films can be. I just think that "Pretty Woman" is the most praised, yet most misunderstood, film in over a couple of decades of covering the industry.

And if you have to base your answer on my imdb posts, I've been here for 17 years, have posted on imdb probably 30,000 messages (and that's just an estimate of the top of my head, but could be double that for all I know). And way before your time.
