Shocked the group of 'Females Under 18' have given the highest ratings..

...how is this?

They are not old enough to legally watch it but they apparently loved it the most.

The real scary thing is, how far under 18 are these girls?

Are movies like this (and the parents who let young kids watch them) partly to blame for societies glamorization of adult sex among children?

No problem with this content for the 18+ crowd, but is depressing to see so many in this young and impressionable demographic appreciate such a crap movie :(

Well, I read Fifty Shades of Grey when I was 13 and watched the movie (in the theater) with 14, so I don't see why these girls couldn't have done the same with Fifty Shades Darker.

Probably because in thirty-two states, in order to graduate, the FSOG series is now on the required reading list for the twelfth grade Brit Lit course and AP American Literature. Makes sense they'd want to see the movie after being made to read the books. I'd be curious.

I do appreciate the civil and non-confrontational responses.

I did not know the book was being read by minors. So what does this say about ratings then?

I know when I was a young teen, I thought anything was ok for me, but as a father of a daughter, it makes me uncomfortable to condone such movies/books as I don't see the benefit over the potential negatives.

There is a lot of great lit to read out there. Is sex and BDSM necessary in providing that great educational experience many others seemed to obtain without it?

Like I said, my opinion only comes from the potential nightmare of my (or anyone's) 11 y/o being told at school someday by a 14 y/o that she should let her bf tie her up during sex like in the movies.

Am I a prude? old fashioned perhaps, but prefer to think of it as my great love of my kids and desire to protect their childhood innocence for as long as they are able to enjoy it.

Still can't reconcile the fact that on one hand, young girls are required to read it, but the movie rating agencies deem it as not permissible for them to watch.

Young girls are f^cking stupid so I'm not shocked at all that they would like this crap.
