I Hope The New Direction Shifts Quickly

Now I loved Season 1. I was really looking forward to S2E1 and it felt like I was watching a parody of ROSEWOOD. I'm trying to decide between the director or the writer(s) or (most likely) a combo of both. But this was a bad bad episode.

The new chief in town is a joke. I mean that literally. He makes these godawful jokes and comments and I am not sure what to make of them. Do the writers think they make him "cool"? Is he supposed to be clever? Enigmatic? I don;t know what he is supposed to be but he comes off like someone who only exists in bad sitcoms.

And they have Rosie going around repeating inane phrases. And the "tension" or "chemistry" between Rosie and Villa is now non-existent. And the whole Pippy/TMI thing seems to have acquired a huge yet unseen chasm from last season's finale and this season's opener. And yeah, I know there is a potential breakup going on but a whole bunch of stuff just kind of got painted over.

What the hell happened here?

Don't worry about it. This show will be cancelled very soon. Repeats could pull higher ratings than this. Season 2 premiered to a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demo. Rosewood is dead.

I've always HATED Eddie Cipriani. He just has the face of a dickhead which he really is in real life. He's also a bad actor. He's trying to hard to be the "bada-s" captain but he's just laughable.

They need to reinstate Hornstock as captain already. That guy is the real deal.

Eddie is too pretty to be a badass. I don't think he is the greatest actor either. He probably thinks he can get by on his looks alone, but looks fade, age catches up. You have to have something to fall back on, like talent 😀.

I was hoping there may be a twist and he would be involved in a crime and Hornstock would have to arrest him. We will see.

Totally agree. Someone decided to change too many things up and it is NOT working.
3 episodes in and I am losing interest. I really liked this show last season.
