White.

For a show that promises to produce factual evidence, i can not see why they would choose adam bond, a white man, to portray the role of jesus of nazareth.

Anyone born two centuries ago in the area now called the middle east, would have been very dark skinned. Almost black.

One can easily speculate that such a bold move to portray correct skin colour would certainly not sit well with the american audience.

Who cares? Jesus is imaginary, so let's imagine him to look as we please. We already imagine what he's thinking, so how he looks should come even easier!

Agreed also Isaiah 53:2:

For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, And like a root out of parched ground; He has no stately form or majesty That we should look upon Him, Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him.

Two centuries ago was only 200 years.. I'm not sure if things like skin color have changed that drastically since 1815

Finding white Jesus lol!.....That's the reason their still looking,he didn't exist. They'll try to change MLK in 200 years

reply

I think they should do a White MLK. Hollywood decides to make other historic movies ,comics , etc with Black people playing white roles. Turn the table a little bit.

Jesus did exist and was fair skinned. Whether you believe his decisions to be crucified for us is entirely up to you, but saying someone didn't exist when they clearly did is pure ignorance.

Here a question for you nonbelievers,

Whether you believe he is actually the Almighty or not, who do you know in history that loved us so much, that he was willing to use his blood by being crucified to give us hope for something better?

That in itself is reason enough to read and study his Word.

In what world are u living in buddy, whites have been playing roles outside they're race since the beginning of film ur crazy. And as far as ur Jesus being fair skinned ur super wrong I was an art history major who has actually seen the first depictions of Jesus. For one he had no beard and he was black and always shown with a stick and a sheep, plus that last supper painting that people always think of is later version that Europeans changed from the earlier version which depicts a beardless black Jesus with his all black apostles. It's the same exact picture just everybodies skin color has been changed to white. Oh and if u don't believe me I want u to scroll down this page that will show u the early depictions of Jesus and how they later started to lighten his skin thru time as Christianity started to spread thru Europe cuz god for bid the all knowing all perfect being be black to a white person.

You would gain a lot more credibility if you used proper punctuation and grammar and didn't use u and ur in place of you and your.

this is really pretty hysterical - the bible is NOT history, it's a bunch of stories. the jesus you are talking about is not mentioned anywhere in history, except that one phony reference in Josephus that some 3rd century clowns stuck in there to try and validate their imaginary savior. if you are going to post, at least try and post something that makes sense.

Yeah, just like they rebooted Annie into a black girl, and now the spider man reboot is going to be a black guy. Reboots happen. In 200 years nobody is going to give a crap about MLK, they won't make him white, though.

reply

No. Two centuries ago, people in the Middle East looked much as they do today.

Two millennia ago, it's possible that they could've been a bit darker. However, it is not neccessarily so.

At least they cast an actor that looks somewhat Middle Eastern Jewish. A blonde, blue-eyed, fair-skinned actor wouldn't have been taken very seriously, as a potentially accurate depiction of a man that may or may not have existed.

If Jesus of Nazareth did in fact exist, that doesn't necessarily make him a God. It was John and others that posthumously made him into a Christ/Messiah figure and created a new religion.

There people 2000 years ago looked mostly Ethiopian in that region and it wasn't until the European started to make trade invade and settle with people of Northern Africa and the Middle East that they're skin tone started to change similar to a lot of Puerto Ricans who are a mix of Spanish Europeans and the Africans who were brought to the south and middle America thru slavery

reply

Do Romans and Greeks count as Europeans?

Janet! Donkeys!

reply

dude people in the middle east then did not look african. they were darker then europeans but were not black.

reply

Israelis don't look super dark to me.

reply

That's cuz a lot them came from Germany after WWII

reply

Try and look beyond the actor's skin. Did you like Johnny Depp as Tonto? Robert Downey Jr. in Tropic Thunder?

reply

Johnny Depp as Tonto was horrible. RDjr wasn't playing a black man. He was playing a white man playing white man playing a black man. ;)

- I have a giant soap box and I intend to smash you with it.

And RDJr is the best black actor out there.

reply

Well, if Jesus was God, I guess he could have any color skin he wanted. Rank has its privileges, you know.....

reply

Jesus didn't exist so he wasn't white, black, or ANYTHING! The bible is NOT history. It is simply theology WITHOUT corroborating evidence to support it.

Jesus NEVER existed! He is Judeo Christian MYTH!

reply

No Jesus existed, even Jews know he existed but they don't believe he was their savior. Plus Jesus was a Jew, was there a lot of black Jews back then btw?

reply

Jesus would not have been very dark black, but I guess you felt the need to insult Americans
