The mom would stop putting the children on the kitchen counter in their bare feet. When they want to help her in the kitchen can't she get them a little table to do their mixing and food prep on ?

She'll learn her lesson the hard way. People like her always do. Just wait until one of those kids takes a header off that counter, then just wait for her to start wailing! It's like her letting the kids play in the street. She sure isn't fast enough to chase them down, especially when she's usually sitting on her fanny with her feet up, chatting with the neighbor ladies. When those tiny kids are chasing a toy it would be so easy for them to get run over.
