Some ideas for bringing it back

I watched all the episodes, thought it was a great concept although the execution was a bit hit and miss. It did seem to drag on towards the end, and there seemed to be a lot of dead time.(Pardon the pun.)

Anyhow, rather than basing it on a Big Brother type format, why not do a series of one-hour episodes, like Release the Hounds? It would make the show a lot tighter. I guess then you'd lose some of the daily survival challenges like food runs and finding sleeping gear, etc, but they could still contrive other challenges like getting from point A to B, having to fix power cuts, etc. There are a lot of things that couldbtake place in a "survive the night" scenario.

Another thing that would be cool is if the host actually had a point to be there, they could have the host be an actual character in the game world, either with the contestants all the time, guiding them to each challenge and making suggestions (like in rhe Crystal Maze). Alternatively, have the presenter be a horror host type (think Elvira or Crypt Keeper) who the contestants meet at the end and gives them a final challenge.

A couple more things, first it might be worth doing another one-off episode on Halloween or something, I know one of the complaints a lot of people made about this show was they didn't want to watch it for an hour each week for only about 10 minutes of action. Stand alone episodes with different contestants each week might get more casual and repeat viewers. Secondly, why not try different classic horror scenarios such as a Friday 13th type one at a holiday camp, or a Vampire one, etc. I guess this show was piggybacking off the success of The Walking Dead and the Romero movies but there are plenty of other scenarios that they could also use (even something way out like an Alien set up, just keep the contestants on a set dressed up ro resemble a space station, it could be pretty claustrophobic). It wouldn't have to be that expensive as they could just redress a moderate sized set each week for each new episode.

Lastly, does anyone know if any other country has tried to use the Survival Horror concept since this show aired?(Must have been several months ago now.)
