Original remake?

How does the trivia section call this movie both a remake and a Disney original movie?

reply

Because it's a movie made specifically for Disney Channel.

"I guess it never hurts to 'shake it up'."

Maybe they got the inspiration from 1987 "Adventures in babysitting", but did a total makeover in the story.

That one was a really fun movie. The trailer is awful (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ng5XOCwQk4) but the actual movie was cool. Or... Does it hold up?

reply

Oh yeah, I loved that movie! Started my crush on Elisabeth Shue! haha. I wonder if it held up, I'll have to show it to the kids someday.

Anyway, this cake is great. It's so delicious and moist.

First couple of minutes with her dancing to "Then He Kissed Me" by the Crystals was high point.

BTW Shue was in her late 20's portraying a teen.

reply

Wow, she pulled it off! She's 20 years older than me, and still hot as hell.

An original Disney movie, a re-make of the original. It's similar but not exactly the same, the only basically word for word movie I've ever seen that done with, is "Miracle of 34th Street" with Mara Wilson. That one I don't watch because you can't replace a classic. Most kids don't even know the original, I didn't until I babysat on New Years one time and it was on. It's modernized for today's crazy world, that was at least 12 years ago...

When something is a "Disney Channel original" it means it was produced by and for Disney Channel. It doesn't mean the movie idea is original.
