Confusing story. (Spoilers)

The movie tried. It did. Good acting, but the story just failed.

I did figure out that if the mom died (queen bee), the others would as well, but couldn't figure out where the dude came into the picture. Was he left behind when the "hive" moved? How did they plan to sell the electronics (laptops, etc.) if they were only in town for a month or two? Someone states that if you kill the mother, they all die, but the love interest for the main character doesn't die until after his mother does. How does the main character get "infected"?

The movie made no sense. Disappointing.

Truth be told a hell of a lot simply wasn't explained and I came away from it feeling as though it had all been for nothing. As if I'd read a book not realizing the last chapter had been torn out.
