I actually love him. He's a hardass but it just proves everyone's point that rules are breakable under certain circumstances.
He's also gorgeous.
Plus, this sort of thing happens all the time to varying degree in hospitals.
I love him as head of surgery, and a character, I just don't like him as the head of the ER. But I understand why he is. It gives his character, and talent as an actor, more exposure. Having him just head of the ER, he's on a lot less, and they have to go to him, or really adapt the show.
shareI can't stand the character either, but I know many surgeons that are just like him while working. Done have a dramatic shift in attitude when off duty, while others go home and continue to torture their family (and usually very few, if any friends) with the same attitude.
