Why do women paint their eyebrows?

the female lead on this show is attractive but the close ups of her painted on eyebrows are distracting. I'm guessing this isn't a "it's the future" thing and more of a reflection of a bizarre grooming choice that is happening currently. It's so weird. "I'm going to shave off my eye brows and then paint them back on." Granted, it doesn't look like the lead did this but someone's going nuts with the sharpie. Could you imagine how stupid I would look if I shaved my face and then took a sharpie and drew on a beard????

Some people have medical issues that don't allow them to grow eyebrows, but many women just seem to like them painted on. Like you, I don't much care for it and don't understand why anyone would do that to themselves.

I have very thin eyebrows that getting thinner with age, are also turning grey. Some parts don't grow any more, so there are bare spots too. They look splotchy and weird unless I fill in a little with eyebrow pencil. Granted I don't do nearly as much as the ladies on this show, and just try to fill in the parts that have disappeared with age.

I heard (so I don't know if it's true) that her eyebrows were overplucked for too long and never recovered, so she actually had them tattooed to fill them in.

I agree, they are distracting though.

I wish she had gotten a better eyebrow artist. They ARE pretty distracting :(

I've actually noticed this on a couple of shows and equally wonder why. I can see no reason for it, and yet there it is. It is so distracting on close-ups.

Don't sweat the petty things; or was it don't pet the sweaty things ... I've forgotten.

Whoa, that's pretty crazy that someone would get their eyebrows TATTOOED on. Colored ink fades quickly and unevenly, I'm surprised she doesn't just use a brow pencil to color them in, that's actually more the trend now. It's because darker eyebrows provide more contrast in a face, which looks better aesthetically.

Full brows are sexy. Men fill in their beards all of the time. You would look dumb with sharpie on your face, that's why no one does that.
