Unpleasant but somewhat well made

The fatal flaw of The Corpse of Anna Fritz though is that its characters are excessively corrupt to the point that it starts to become laughable. Sure, self-preservation can make human beings do some shocking things, but after a while the excessively monstrous actions of the protagonists tends to grind the film down. That’s not to say the performances are to blame — all the actors are fully engaged with their characters, and do the best to make them seem like real people even if they happen to be doing unrealistic things.
