George have Aspergers ?

He is described as strange, but for anyone reading book, did George suffer a form of Aspergers ? Or was it the actor's portrayal ?

He had a fine disciplined mind, and very clever for a solicitor, but seemed to me to have no awareness of others in an emotional or social level.

Denial is strong in human beings. I saw no evidence of AS in the actor's portrayal of the character. I've yet to read the book. It's far down on my reading stack.
