A Couple Questions *Spoilers*

1. I understand that Daniel's own anger kept him bound to the earth, but how did he take on human form every year?
2. Was Daniel actually resurrected at the end, or just able to stay behind and remain visible to Kate?

reply

My take on it-

It wasn't Daniel's anger that kept him bound- it was Lily's Christmas wish for him to be 'transformed'. (It just took him 95 years to realize it.) Harry was bound by his fear of letting go and being punished for killing Daniel.

Finally, when Daniel realizes why he comes back every Christmas for exactly 12 days (the length of time Lily said it would take for him to change), he is given a choice: go with Lily to the afterlife, or stay with Kate. He chose Kate.

Right, but go with Lilly and cross over, or stay with Kate as... a ghost? A human? I wish they'd been a little more clear on how Daniel was staying. So are we to believe that their relationship might work "better" because he's not bound to the house so he can go where he wants? But he's still a ghost?? Or is he not??

reply

He is a person/human form now he's not a ghost (he can leave the property, plus the mystery was solved - his anger mostly is what was the "curse" and it was broken, it just took so long but w/the help of Kate and fallen in love w/her he is no longer a ghost) so not only Kate can see him but others can as well... I think he made the right choice by choosing to stay w/Kate. He is been giving a second chance at life and has fallen in love w/Kate, and wants to live his life w/Kate and start over w/her. Its a great love story - Daniel loved Lily and always will but he like I said was given a second chance and fell in love w/Kate so he chose her rather than crossing over.

Yeah. I guess we don't really know how the whole "he's dead, now he's not" thing works....but if he is alive now because of "twu wuv"....there would be a lot more dead people coming back.
I know, "it's just a movie", but I did not like the ending.

reply

Aw shucks. Who doesn't like a happy ending.
