Whattttt

This movie really confused me. Who killed the wife and baby? Why was he still on earth? Why did he leave the woman he'd loved for the years for one he'd only known for 12 days? And most confusing of all, how did he come back to life???!

reply

No one killed the wife. The baby died a few days after birth and she followed.
He kept himself there because he was was so angry thinking his brother and wife were unfaithful to him.
He came back to life because when he wasn't angry anymore the wife said it is your choice. You can come with me or stay on earth and live a life.

It's good to dream

Agree holycow, that's my "take" on this movie too.

Surprised how much I liked it, although I would have liked his dead love to have helped get the other 2 together at the end.

OK, I know it's "only a movie"...but if that's all it takes to come back from the dead...
Didn't like the ending at all.
He left his love, and their baby.
For someone he just met.
I don't buy it.
I kept waiting for Kate to meet someone who looked like him, maybe a distant relative.
Geeze, if it were that easy to come back from the dead, poor Teresa Caputo would be out of a job.
Lol!

???????

Say what??? He didn't leave his wife and baby! He was killed!

reply

She meant that in the end he chose to stay instead of going to the afterlife to reunite with his wife and baby.

I might get hated for this comment but I found that Lily was a "gold-digger" when I first met her b/c she knew everything about Daniel owning the Inn and so on... She didn't realize he was having money trouble keeping the Inn, ONLY that he owned it and he was wealthy, it was like she seek him out. I don't know just something about Lily I didn't like and I think Kate was the right woman for him in the end - so glad he chose to stay on earth - no longer a ghost which was even better since everything was resolved and he was given a second chance b/c of it. If Kate never came along he would still be stuck, she sort of saved his soul and made him want to solve the mystery and they fell in love - great movie.

I know what you mean about Lily. I also thought it was hinted that she was really after the inn. There was that scene where she talked about the library she would make when it was hers. When Daniel said ''We might not live here'', she was all ''ahahaha, don't be silly''. I mean, it would have been more indicative of true love to say that it didn't matter where they lived...
