Not Christmassy enough

This could have been set any time. Christmas doesn't have much of anything to do with it!

Agreed it wasn't. I was hoping it would be something like the Hallmark movies, but nope.

The movie really isn't supposed to be about Christmas. It's supposed to be about love and second chances and all that stuff.

Then set it some other time and call it "The Spirit of Love and Second Chances and All That Stuff."

The title would be too long. The movie really isn't about Christmas. If they set the movie during July, then the aesthetics of the movie would really suck. It's set during Christmas because it looks nice.

And the original title of the movie was "Hollygrove Inn".

The Dead Of Winter might have been a better title. You are right it is not really a Christmas movie.
