My 2 cents worth

Aside from wondering if a Billy Idol song was released in 1982 or much later, why in the hay did Betty use a pager? Pagers were invented already but not used by the general public until sometime in the early to mid-90s. And, for arguments sake if the nurses profession used pagers in the early 1980s, then why wasn't Mr. Psycho surprised to see what this little device was and acted all normal when her kid paged her, and he was only surprised that she had 2 kids. Doesn't make sense.

And really, I don't understand why some people find Ed Westwick hot. He creeps me out. He's got that slimy factor going. The sex scene, when Betty plays dead so he can get his rockers off, is just repulisive.

Although I like Sisto, and really always have, I'm voting a no on this series. There is no "it" factor that would keep me coming back for more.

I also vote it down but for other reasons. I don't think a couple of things were planned very well. To start a series with the lead being a cheating husband with a caring family will not just make him repulsive with women but a lot of guys won't care for him either. This may seem small but people won't become enthusiastic to get into his character.

Then, to place children in scenes with violent serial murderers brings cringe to a new level. That innocent women being stabbed to death scene was something that if happened on a weekly basis will probably lose more viewers then the series gains.

The casting is good and it also has great scenery, but it's not enough for me...Just my 2 cents.

Just curious. With the preview all week showing the psycho getting blow jobs from all his victims, why were you turned off by the bedroom scene. The title is WICKED CITY. What exactly were you expecting? This pilot was the most predictable show I've seen in recent years. Didn't the bedroom scene appear hokey, especially when this woman kept pulling the sheet up around her neck? He ties her up, does his delayed climax thing while she's spread-eagle exposing herself. Then she pulls the sheet up to her chin. Totally unreal and lame scene.

Commenting on the Wicked City name, notice that the letter "i" in Wicked in a line of coke.

The pulling up of the sheet on the tied up Betty can be a form of control. She is tied spread eagle, legs akimbo, but he covers her up to show that she has no autonomy. He can pull the covers off and have his way with her again, leave her in that compromising position for her to call one of her kids to eventually untie her, or do what he did which was cut her loose himself (the list of possibilities can go on). It is all about control.

Not true about pagers. I was around them and pagers were used st that time by some people.
