Why does Kent run after this event? (Spoilers)

He wants to convince a LA detective that he is innocent so he walks to Detective Roth tells him he's innocent understandable he doesn't believe him because of visible strong evidence but still Kent decides to run.

Pretty hard to sell innocent when the person using a typical movie of a guilty culprit which is run from the Police for the purpose to avoid getting caught and arrested.
