Over the top feminism

So, we have a star agent who is a woman, top five characters behind her are female, top handlers are women, a four star general is a women, an FBI director and her assistants are women, even on the Farm, Blair Underwood seemed to be a some sort of a leading agent until we found out that his own daughter talks to him like he is some kind of garbage, a bottom feeder....what is happening with these shows, and they wonder why the ratings are horrible...

I don't think it's over the top. Would you be saying the same thing if all of the women in power were men or would you not think anything of it?

reply

Have some sympathy, agubosio. 😉 It's tough on the little guys.

reply

@agu: Yea. I don't think it is over the top either.

I agree. It is over the top feminism and I find it annoying and boring and stupid. It's unbelievable. Every female character has to be beautiful and seductive and kick ass and always right and in charge and blah blah blah. If we're going to have so many female characters could we have some real looking ones?

reply

It seems to be the norm in Hollywood now. Women are always kick-ass tough while the men are portrayed as mostly weanies...

In one of the episodes this season Alex character had her shoulder dislocate to free herself from being tied up, and then she put the dislocation in place.....so she is Mel Gibson from Lethal Weapon :)....and you are saying this is not over the top feminism? And yes, by the way, even the president is a woman.

I disagree. I would say that about half the characters are female--which is what you should expect in a non-biased society.

More of the people she is close to (and thus get more screen time) are women but that's to be expected--most people have more friends of their own gender than of the opposite.
