Very realistic, not for everyone though...

There are many different opinions regarding this picture. Some like it, others don't. I'll try not to be absolute. I've already read other reviews and some professional ones. In my opinion this movie is really good, especially for a first work from the directors/writers. You have to be patient and understanding. If you are looking for an intense movie with lots of sex scenes this is one is not for you!
The camera angles and the acting makes understand what the characters are feeling. The fact that it doesn't have too much dialogue gives the audience the time and space to think through what happened and the characters are thinking. It's not easy to make that happen but this movie does that! The characters are very realisting especially Thomaz! However the ending doesn't seem natural enough to much the greatness of the rest of the movie. Engaging in a sexual relationship from a friendship is not something that happens this spontaneously. Throughout the movie you can feel the awkwardness between the characters and the potential chemistry but in the ends it all happens to fast. I would have enjoyed it if it lasted half an hour more.
Some say the camera was shaky and the blurs made the movie boring but i think it just helped the story reveal itself without the need of too many words (which i think is the point of some films). As the directors explained it has the concept of a memory or a third person watching as it isn't focused on one but both the protagonists.
To sum i enjoyed it very much! I wouldn't rate it with a 10/10 if i was strict but the fact that many have underrated the film just makes me wanna do it!

I would have to disagree on that. This was probably the most realistic part of the film, to be honest. They've clearly known each other for years and the bond between two young boys can be very special and may last for decades. It can grow into so much more and not necessarily a romantic relationship. Martin said "did you know you were gay before your first time with a guy"? Clearly he wasn't sure if he is gay, bi, curious or just fantasizing. Then Tomasz said that he knew for sure after he did it. And that was the cue for Martin. Now or never. Will they become a couple, will they remain best friends or part ways - we don't know. The end scene, imo, only shows us that he's freed himself from his father and is once again not afraid to go to the beach.
