The best Steve Jobs documentary

This one delves deep with the people that knew him best.

Was Steve Jobs a genius, an artist.. possibly.

Was he a marketing guru, master showman/salesman, a profiteer.. absolutely.

Steve Jobs made an impact on the world but it was the products he helped create and evangelized that stole the show. These products were not as revolutionary as most Apple die-hards want to believe but Steve Jobs was a master showman and no one did it better.

In his final years with Apple profiteering was king. He really did not care about any sort of philanthropy, the horrid working conditions and compensation for the Chinese workers that made Apple products. He did not care about Apple's terrible environmental record and he absolutely had no patience for any type of competition or bad press.

His ego was gigantic. Steve Jobs was not a great man but he was a giant.

And that was a big part of his charm.

Just finished seeing the documentary. I wanted to see it before going to watch the Danny Boyle / Aaron Sorkin movie, "Steve Jobs".

I never liked Jobs...I always thought he was a snake oil salesman, a conman of the highest class.

But undeniably he was the best at it in the modern age. He made Apple into the indispensable "thing" most people must have...part status symbol, part useful gadget and a primary example of our hyper connected society.

I think that this documentary wonderfully captures the duality and contrast that co-existed in Jobs for most of his life.

It also made me appreciate HBO'S "Silicon Valley" that much more LOL...

Yes - it didn't pull any punches and exposed some details of his devious side that I didn't even know about until now.

Psychopaths are so charming. Whenever I see one I just want to pet them.
