This is a stretched out remake of..
..a much better program that ran for years: "I Survived". It's nowhere near as good as the survivor explaining with little or no dramatic re-enactment. It was riveting and done in 42 minutes not allowing for commercials with no interviewer heard asking questions. This two hour re-enactment program is so stretched out that it's mind numbing to tie the spoken words of the actual survivor/s that precedes the so-so re-enactments. I would have been pleased if NBC had brought the format back with using the current title. NBC has a large audience from Dateline which has to be a leader in the crime/murder investigation genre. In this case they could have dropped the bad acting and actually allowed the survivors to speak directly to the camera and the audience directly. If they want the program to exist as it's currently done, they really, really need to cut it to 60 minutes or have two survivor stories within the 120 min program. It's actually more suited for the ID channel, which could allow NBC to double up on their investigative and highly rated Dateline mystery's.
