Original ideas vs. Reassigning Characters Gender / Race

Mike Epps is a funny dude. Great in Next Friday and Friday After Next. But casting him in a remake of Uncle Buck is just lazy. Why even bother calling it Uncle Buck?

Same thing with that Ghostbusters reboot. They should have either threw a fat 3 on the title and got cameos from the original cast in their original roles to pass the torch, (and they should cast women that are actually funny like Kristen Schaal or Kaitlin Olson), or they should have swapped out ghosts for some other threat, called it something else, and created a NEW franchise.

The issue is obvious - Hollywood is taking films with an established fan base (be them as cult as Uncle Buck or something a bit more popular like Ghostbusters) and merely swapping out one race for another. Taking male roles and switching them to all female characters. This is unimaginative and lazy. It's like they're pandering in the worst possible way to the worst possible people. (Thin skinned SJW tumblr blog reading dweebs who invent new genders every second Tuesday.)

Just create NEW characters and NEW stories with whatever race or gender your heart desires. Movies shouldn't be a racial and gender "ad-libs." It should be about engaging cinema that doesn't spoon feed the chosen audience to pander to like little children. An all female Ghostbusters and a black Uncle Buck is as necessary as remaking "Jawbreaker" with gay guys or "Weekend at Bernies" with Asians or the Cosby's with a yuppie white family.

It isn't offensive. Anyone OFFENDED by an Uncle Buck remake for the sole reason that they swapped out whites with blacks is ignorant and missing the issue. It's not "they changed this race with that one!" that's annoying. It's the fact they think we're dumb enough to eat this reworked horsesh!t that's annoying, they're insulting all of our collective intelligence with these unimaginative reboots shoehorning different color skin actors that makes it irritating. Not offensive in the slightest, just frustrating.

As frustrating as casting TOM *beep* CRUISE as the Last Samurai.
