why ?

Do they remake white stuff into black stuff then it fails. I mean the honeymooners Annie and now this what the hell I hope it does well and I don't want sound racist but you don't see white remakes of the Jefferson's good times or Sanford and son but if they did everyone would *beep* a brick and please answer my question somebody

They're doing this because they're running out of ideas. They have nothing else to go on except what has worked in the past. I don't know why they're choosing to make Uncle Buck's family African-American over Hispanic, Asian, or whatever. I feel it has something to do with African-American pride or white-guilt maybe something else. Either way, it's not genuine. I feel that it's an insult to African-Americans everywhere to be considered secondary like this. At least Black'ish and Jeffersons is somewhat original.

They could have just had the same premise but called it something else. No one would have really noticed. (okay, they would have noticed a little, but they wouldn't have been as annoyed).

Movies/TV aren't hip hop. No need to "sample".

Sanford and son is actually based on a British white show called steptoe and son, it's a complete ripoff even all the way back then

I want to remake Roots with an all white cast. Maybe good times also.

reply

Exactly, This just doesent work .. This is like Remaking "The fresh prince of Bel Air" with an all white cast, its wrong and actually takes something away from the original.

reply

Try telling that to the black idiots that are tweeting they like this show.

It will be cancelled soon anyway. Even every black person in America isn't enough ratings to keep this garbage on the air. Blackish is even watched by white people.

reply

wow what a moronic comment, not only do you assume all black people like this show but that only black people would... while it has many white and black fans, but MORE white AND black haters of the idea, but honestly the upside is all the black people i know can string a sentence together. Funnier still is that if every black person DID watch it it would be MORE than enough people to keep the show on the air, welcome to reality, views keep shows alive.

reply

There are not enough roles for black people and, since it's a remake, why not change somethings?
