Another channel should pick this up
It's the thing to do now and this show had promise.

The writing needed polish. It's a fine line between making Buck edgy or creepy. Candy made it work because he's a beloved jolly fat "Santa" type.
The show never stepped out of the movie's shadow. People are leery of lazy reboots. Understandable. But the TV show was going to evolve into something different. It had to. The format demanded it.
I saw Buck becoming a reverse Mr. Belvedere. Sitcoms make the cute, precocious kids take down the uptight adults. Like how Mr. Belvedere highlighted the parent's aloofness & was an advocate for the kids. That gets old. Especially when the parents otherwise seem like smart people. The Buck character could work in sitcom format if used to insulate the parents' dignity.
