How long until the first episode where Kenny doesnt mention being Gay?

Every single episode he has to remind us we are gay. The first 5 times were enough but it's getting really annoying. I really hope next season they tone it down. And I'm not talking about him being gay but having him (or someone else) mention it every 5 minutes. How about some showing and not telling? So many shows have gay characters that we just know are gay and they dont have to remind us every week. I understand he's still learning about his sexuality but its bordering on tedious.

Its the new gay smell syndrome, it happens til someone tells him "we get it, you're gay, only you care that much!"

Because unlike in other shows, which have gay characters mainly to be inclusive, but otherwise use them as regular characters, the boy being gay is part of the premise.

You missed the memo where it stated this show is about the GAY BOY and his family and his struggles coming out. It's based on Dan Savage afterall.

Have you ever been close to a teenager? That's how they are. Obsessive about everything.

I've never met a gay teen, but I suspect they would be just as annoying with this gay thing as any other teen on girls or boy crushes.

My best friend in high school was/is a gay male. And there were several more I was friends with and none of them talked about being gay as much as Kenny does. My issue isn't that he's gay but that they have to announce it every episode like we dont already know. There is a difference between "Oh that guy is cute. I want to ask him out on a date" and "Oh that guy is cute. I'm gay by the way so I'm allowed to like guys. I want to ask him on a date because I'm gay". That is literally how this show is written and it's just annoying.

I see where you're coming from. True. That would be better. Still, I thought it was just a comedic trope to announce it. Maybe they will tone it down next season.

I used to be a gay teenager and didn't announce it all the time. Jimmy or Shannon don't go every episode saying that they're straight. I too feel that it doesn't need to be said every single episode. Nothing wrong with him saying a boy is cute or something, but no need for the "Now that I'm an out gay guy" every episode.
