I've only seen her movies back in the 1980s & 1990s so was surprised to see her in this but w0w! She is hilarious!!!

I love her wit!

Martha is awesome. Raising Hope was one of the funniest shows on TV I've seen with a perfect cast. The subtlety of the humor was fantastic and they didn't have the irritating laugh track like The Big Bang Theory where they feel the need to tell you what's funny (apparently everything because they hit that laugh track button several times a minute).

I think that's the beauty of Martha. Even when she was young, she never went all out fixing herself up to look "pretty".

She was like the 1970s Jodie Foster tom-boy of the 1980s.

Well actually you're kind of right. The first thing I noticed when I watched the pilot was how ugly she was. The whole time everytime I saw her in a scene I was repulsed thinking Jeez. Lol.

Me as well. It's already my favorite sitcom. I watched again today.

And a lot of it has to do with Martha Plimpton being fun to watch in this role.

Feel like Hope lasted an appropriate amount of time. The last season was especially meh.

She has a recurring (semi) role on Younger. To me she's in the Joan Cusack category of interesting actors who are unglamorously portrayed. She's terrific.

Her recurring role on The Good Wife was also fun. She was always dragging her kids with her to legal meetings.
