Jake burning bodies

It seems bizarre to me that Jake got stuck on burning bodies duty. There are hardly any cops in the cordon and he's meant to be in charge of them. Instead of spending all his time trying to stop things from spiraling even more out of control he has to take time out to burn bodies. Surely one of the other people in the cordon could be doing this. The hospital alone must have a massive staff. Sure these scenes show us that people are dying but it's not like that's the only way that information is being conveyed.

It too much suspension of disbelief going on this show... something like this should be going to the maintenance staff or even the doctor & with over 4K people in the cordon and only about a dozen cops [which would NEVER happen in reality] Jak would have better things to do

reply

Why wouldn't that ever happen in reality?
Atlanta has 36.8 police per 10000.
In a low crime area, 11 police for 4000 citizens is very believable.

Jake not being out on patrol isn't though, as you said, especially during crisis.

I don't think anybody is turning up for work since no one is getting paid and people are taking care of themselves and there families

I don't know about the US but west yorkshire here in uk has 2.1 million people and 5671 police officers that is 1 officer for every 370 people for 10 for 4000 so a dozen cops is very realistic.

I assume for character development or drama/shock value. It's showing just how every person has a story and not just a statistic.

reply

I assume is so we can see Chris wood in a vest and sweaty

reply

I love it, cuz it shows him all sweaty in a tank top. ;)

reply

Definitely one of the better parts of the show. πŸ˜‚

wait until you see tomorrows EP its just not him burning them :P its the whole gang having a "Cook out" so to speak :P

reply

The hospital HAD a massive staff, before the death toll and everyone going home to protect their families. I did not take it as the cop was the only one who could do that task, but the only one who would accept that task. YOU try asking a receptionist, dietitian, or stranger off the street to handle and burn dozens of infected bodies a day.

He asked the cop because he needed someone who would stick with the task everyday and make sure it was done.

reply

There aren't enough cops to maintain order. In riots Police have massive numbers but people still get hurt and its very tough to stop a mob if they just move down a few blocks. So far we have only seen MAYBE 1 cop per 100 people. BAD odds.

It's even more bizarre, that except for some black (leather?) gloves, he is wearing ZERO protection handling bio hazards. 😱

These bodies are carrying a deadly disease. Yet, here he is, in his wife beater shirt, just about cuddling a plush bear that the disease-ridden dead girl had been carrying with her for days. 😷 
Then, without taking off & discarding the gloves he wears handling the dead virus people & their belongings, he picks up a box of food and hands it to Teresa. 

One of the dumbest shows dealing with a pandemic. LOLz 
