I am confused as to why the kids are in school on Halloween. Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, so why are they in school? I just started the movie and got to where they arrive at school, so maybe it is answered later, but I'm very confused right now!!

Maybe the original story is set in a specific year when Halloween is a weekday.
Maybe the writers didn't think about it.
Seriously? Maybe it's a movie and hey switched the day Halloween fell on to make it work... so very not confusing.

shareMaybe they're making it like a universal year. The weekends are only two days while weekdays are 5 so when they play it in the future it will be more likely for it to be on a school day than not
