The best segment is Father's Day!

To start off...I have a love hate feeling about this movie. One one hand, I think there are a few stories that are brilliantly crafted and play out extremely well. On the other hand, the rest of the stories are just aweful and look like cheap cash in short stories.

The best segment of them all in my opinion is Father's Day. Some of you might be wondering, "What is this guy thinking," but let me give you my reasons why Father's Day is the best.

I am 38 years old, and I grew up on 80's horror movies. This segment plays as an homage to those older 80's style horror movies, and tombs more precise, it looks like an episode that could have been in the first season of Tales From The Crypt.

I think what makes this segment the best is the plot of the story. Here we have a women who receives a package on her doorstep that just happens to be an old school tape recorder (yeah 80's kids....a tape recorder) and in it is her dead dad. Just from that alone, real horror fans should be interested. The story only gets more emotional and intense from scene one, and keeps you on the edge of your seat all the way until the end. You have to love the different dimensions that ar being played out here, and the creepiness of the abandoned town.

The 80's horror and TV shows relied on good old fashion horror, not torture. Horror isn't just blood and guts, but also pain and suffering. This segment is horror/suspense/terror/intensity all rolled into one. To all the true fans out there, this is Twilight Zone 101. Yes...Twilight Zone is the show that all modern horror/suspense movies copy from. If you don't know that original show, Netflix and chill it immediately!

One more thing that makes this segment the best...the score. The music used in this segment is straight Creepshow/Tales From The Crypt/Twilight Zone . I like the fact that the ending is ambiguous...it makes the audience think about what happens next. So many horror movies now a days are lazy and clumsy, and this segment was a throwback to old school horror. Father's Day is a great example of good old fashion horror, and I love it!

Of course...this is my opinion...so I could be totally off...but I don't think so!
