My take on 'Father's Day' (spoilers)

Ive seen what a few others have written here about what happened during the best part of this movie and it seems the consensus is either the father really was dead, and therefore the tape was created and sent by some malicious force to lure her somewhere. The other idea is that the father was purposefully leading her to her doom.I agree with the second theory more but, I also think that what the father was doing was done out of the genuine need to see his daughter again who hereally did love. I think that makes it way more disturbing. I also agree that the mother was calling because the father was really dead that whole time but that doesnt mean that he didnt make the tape ahead of time. Seems like he was about to die at the end of the recording as some sacrifice or something. He really did want to be reunited with her, she just didnt that it meant dying. Although he mentioned in the tape having to leave, he never says anything about the mother lying about his death since that wouldnt have been a lie. That should have been a clue for her that seeing him again meant dyi g. Too bad she never got her mother's call. Also, the whole sacrifice thing was given away by the father mentioning that she showed up there of her own free will.
