In all fairness, that's Nova's cause, not Charlie's, and it would have seemed forced if it came from Charlie. Everything about BLM and social injustice in the community came from Nova's story. It just would not have rang true, especially since the only time we've seen Charlie and Nova talk about any social injustice was when Nova stole the money from the account. And, did Nova even tell her what it was for? Or did she just say she planned to pay her back and it was for a good cause?

And, yes Melana chose that life, but she did not choose to be raped. And, that was Charlie's way of making amends for how she treated her.
