How much hate do you have to have to spit in someone's face?!!? That scene was so disgusting to me. I wish she would have hit him over the head with a bottle, but I imagine she was in shock.
shareThat scene, IMO was the BEST of the series. Even though Nova is involved with the community, there is a part of her that's naive. She would have to be pretty simple to believe that she could out with her married cop lover and not run into his brethren and get some negative feedback. Yeah, that guy had hate in his heart cause from his point of view, he's out there risking his life every day wearing the uniform and gets criticized from outsiders by people like Nova. No matter what side you take on BLM vs PD, you gotta realize it's a polarizing subject for all on the front lines. Spitting, while vile, hits home on the small screen on how deep his disrespect for Nova is. (Also brazenly grabbing her buttcheeks does the trick too)
