Franco makes a good movie?

Duvall, D'Onofrio, Cranston, Harris, Braff. This cast is amazing. Is there a chance that Franco may actually direct a decent film? I like a couple of his other films, As I Lay Dying wasn't horrible, and Child of God was just a step above a train wreck. He has the talent, he has the ambition, he has the connections, he just needs to find the right way to utilize all of these things.
