Looking forward to it

I just finished watching the trailer and this movie has me very intrigued. Unlike most, I know nothing about the story- haven't seen the previous version or read the book. I usually love reading the book version before I watch a movie, so do you recommend that I read the book first? Did the (old version of) the movie change any major plot points?

reply

I thought the book was excellent, every bit as quietly unsettling as "Rebecca". I haven't seen the '83 version, but I thought the '52 film was miscast, especially deHavilland as Rachel.
I do recommend the book.

Yes! Both excellent read!

It depends...do you care about spoilers? If you don't care about spoiling the end of the movie, read the book.
I too prefer to read the book before watching the movies usually.
I read this many years ago, but if I hadn't I would probably read it before watching the film.

I hate spoilers if I'm just seeing a movie, but when it comes to reading the book beforehand it doesn't bother me. Sounds like I might have to check it out.
