She is looking a little pale
I'm disappointed they made her so light-skinned. But not surprised. Comic book artists are terrified of "darkness".
I'm black, gay, and a nerd; just staying alive is an act of protest.

Hollywood in itself is afraid of dark skinned actresses. I do agree if they were just going to make her lighter, they should have chosen a lighter comic character not one of the darkest.. What sense does that make? They also made her resemble the actress who will play her role if she ever does go live action or do any live action cross overs, in their defense. I will still support, probably gonna be a while before we get another African American female lead super hero if this fails.
shareWhy are comic book artists terrified of darkness? She's darker in comic books, which is why my very first thought watching this was 'Why is she so much lighter?'.
I'd guess you meant animators, but I think the complaint should be with producers and directors and execs. They're most often the guilty ones making the final decisions.
She's never really been that dark in comics.
shareNot all Africans are dark. East Africans e.g Ethiopians are light skinned.
I know this is based on West Africa, but not all of them are dark either. I'm just glad her voice is of a woman that's least half African.
