Why does Mireille Enos make these odd facial expressions?

In my opinion Mireille Enos is probably the most beautiful woman on TV but there is something about her looks that are disturbing. I do not know she is making those odd faces because she has been told to do so but, is disturbing to see the most beautiful woman on TV making ugly faces.

By the way I stopped watching after ep one because there were things not related to her (such as the overpowering music and man lead) that I did not like. I just came back to see if anyone else had the same opinion.

I want to win the Nobel Peace Prize so bad that I would kill to get it

I'm surprised more people aren't talking about how weird she looks.

She's got a strange plastic look to her - and I do NOT find her attractive.

She's got that same unnatural plastic look that Nicole Kidman had about 6 years ago.

I agree, something is just not right about how she looks... but her grinning facial expression that she does in scene after scene freaks me out the most.

You guys are crazy she does look really weird I'm not going to refute that but she's also super stunningly beautiful. I think the fact that she looks kinda weird goes with the odd faces she makes their not ugly you just have to be better telling between faces. I think you guys are referring to her cunning vindictive devilish like smirk lol it has a lot of diff attributes in it I think she uses it to seem powerful, u know like that "I'm gonna get you back" look. I think she's an amazing actor and everything about her is beautiful. Lol I guess she can make creepy faces though but like I said it's because of her crazy blue eyes and other strong/weird facial features.

I think it's the false eyelashes. They appear too large for her eyes. She looks like she's struggling to keep her eyes open. They should scale the eyelashes back a notch or two!

I was used to seeing her on Big Love and The Killing. Seeing her all glammed up is a bit of a shock. But she's a good actress and I'll get used to it.

Peter Krause was so gorgeous on Sports Night, but it's been a while and he's not nearly as hot anymore.

Can we criticize a guy's looks for a change?

I'm with you. I love Peter Krause so much a since Sports Night and then Six Feet Under. But in this he looks like an animatronic wax figure. I don't know if they have him in too much makeup or if he's actually had work done but I find it off-putting.

Christ on a stick, he's 50 yo now. Get over it. It means he didn't die at 27ish in a horrific car crash and leave a revolting looking corpse! I'd rather see a good-looking, good actor live to and past 50 than see the reckless likes of James Dean and Paul Walker any day.

Aging, it's the honor of having survived and NOT died young.

I think she's gorgeous, and love her haunted expressions. I think it's her way of expressing the character's devastation of what happened with her fiancé and trying to appear strong.

I don't think you are used to seeing a 40-something year old woman on TV who hasn't had work done. It's refreshing! She is a real looking woman and a very beautiful one, at that.

I do not see any "odd" facial expressions. I see a beautiful woman making "her" facial expressions. The only thing I can think of that is odd about the way she LOOKS is those fake eyelashes. I think she could do without them.
