Another propaganda movie by Adam Curtis

I was truly expecting to see a documentary. Instead I saw a visual cinematographic propaganda piece which delivers a very partial and oriented history of the middle-east wars, orienting it towards the absolving of western politics responsibility, even presenting their soldier in a positive light, and Saudis as absolute evil not for their regime but as soon as they were presented being against Israƫl (well of course...), or completely overlooking the fact than Hafizullah Amin was an american agent...

Anyway, as usual another propaganda piece from partial oriented information from Adam Curtis

Not sure how you came to those conclusions, because I saw the documentary as being very unapologetic in its treatment of western politics being responsible for creating a horror it "invented" for the sake of combating it, regardless of what the intentions for that may have been. I also saw western soldiers being depicted as relishing killing people against orders, as well as torturing people, and aggressively antagonizing the very people they were supposed to protect. The western governments and soldiers were most certainly not presented in an entirely positive light.

And I never saw the Saudis as being an absolute evil, except for how they were depicted by the simplified narratives that the documentary expended its efforts to indicate were at the core of the problems with the conflicts in Afghanistan; seeing the conflict as simple "good" vs "evil".

Just like curtis you have the western prism over your eyes. So used to condemning the east you can't even see it as that.

some of it was ok, the first 15 minutes. Then he started coming out with all the wahabi nonsense. And everyone knows the west is spiritually bankrupt, we stupidly try to plug the gap with materialism and at the same time claim our material achievements prove we are the most advanced and civilised people. Curtis knows this area ok but when it comes to Islam he's as ignorant as everyone else. Disappointing.
