WHY have neither of these girls been nominated?

For any kind of awards?

The acting here is phenomenal. Mackenzie Davis definitely stole the show. But Caitlin Fitzgerald was equally as amazing, just in a different, more subtle way.

And the SUBTEXT. Wow. So much going on in between the lines here.

Anyone who has ever tried to make it as an actor in this town, especially the women, should see this. It resonates and CUTS DEEP on many occasions. Props to all who have attempted the often brutal, often treacherous path toward becoming a successful actor. This film highlights so many aspects of the industry that are flawed.

But it goes deeper, too. It's portrayal of the submissive vs. dominant role of women, and the effect that these roles have on society - men in particular - is spot on.

Upon first viewing, I absolutely loved the first two thirds, and wasn't too crazy about the final act - though it was interesting to watch the role reversal. But then it lingered in my head for several days and I watched it again today, and now I'm fascinated with it.

Phenomenal work by the director, actors, editors... all involved.

Considering one of the big themes the film touches on (talented going unnoticed), it is ironic that neither Fitzgerald nor Davis are likely to be nominated for any kind of substantial awards this year. It irritates me to no end how many great performances and films are ignored each year. Back in 2012 I couldn't believe that Mary Elizabeth Winstead didn't get any recognition for Smashed. That's just one example in MANY.

Unfortunately it's too small film for being nominated for anything (even Independent awards ignored).
At least Mackenzie Davis won Best actress in Tribeca Film Festival.
