old guy takes down 3 young ppl

didnt see how the guy was able to kill all three and no one was able to stop him or get away. he was fat, slow and couldnt walk all that good.

His upper-body showed signs of steroid abuse, but I agree. Muscular does not equal fit. Baywatch should've called from the street, not the pool.

reply

right! I'm like, idiot! run down the street while calling.

reply

I thought the same thing

I read this in a chola accent.

reply

Yeah, he had weird-ass body!

reply

I'm not sure he killed the mom, I thought that was her screaming in lockdown right near the end. But I'm arguing semantics here, you are correct, the implausibility factors of this movie are endless...

Right. Well, I have to-- I have to go now, Duane, because I, I'm due back on the planet Earth.

reply

I don't understand the argument here. The dude was jacked. Yes, he was slow, BUT if you consider all 3 cases, instead of over generalizing things, you start to get a clear picture.

1. Ryan was working in the dark mainly and didn't guard his woman. Had he minimized Gerald's entry, funneled him in, then yes, Ryan would have had the advantage, but we aren't discussing strategy. In that case, any guy in that shape who knows a place could get the jump on you and kill you with a shot to the head with a hammer, so that one is simple.

2. In theory, I see people saying that Hannah should have been running. I assume that her body had to experience some atrophy from being in lockdown. Furthermore, she didn't strike me as a terribly brilliant girl. Yes, she should have gone running down the street, and then if Gerald drive and captures her, we'd all be b*tching about that cliche. She promised that she would be back and was concerned for pregger. So yeah, she's not going to stray too far because she was overly emotional and overly emotional women tend to make poor decisions. So wipe that one clean.

3. I don't even have to explain the last one. So there you go. Come to find out, a little bit of common sense can go a long way. Or would all of you just do everything 100% perfectly in every emergency situation ever? Those thinking yes, you are delusional. Accept that we are all humans and make poor decisions in times of duress. Or just complain about reasonable outcomes.

I swear these boards are full of malcontents.

reply

Honestly? My main issue with this is how they all reacted.

The guy? He stood there with the door open, and his back turned to the dark room behind him, when what would've made way more sense is closing the door, locking it, and facing the opposite direction

And yea, it was inexcusably stupid for Baywatch to try and call right next to the house..

Just.. So dumb...

reply

The old man was able to take advantage of their FEAR.

As always (in life), aggression usually pans out a victory. In this case it happened as well. If the three were more aggressive and rushed around the house looking for him he wouldn't of lasted.

A bright light can hollow the deepest of nothingness.

If you look at his pics on IMDB, he's actually very jacked and muscular. The photography in this movie didn't show that enough, whether intentionally or not, though.
