phone

Ok. knowing they didn't have service in the house, and that she was pregnant, why didn't they install an actual phone connected to the wall? smh. I know young people these days are all about the cell phones, but LAND lines are a thing. She might have needed to call 911.

There is literally no need for a land line anymore.

reply

Unless you were in the characters' situation.

I think what the op is saying is that she's pregnant and anything can go wrong when you're pregnant. So if they knew they didn't get cell service why not just get a landline that way if something happened where they needed to call 911 in a baby emergency they could.

There literally is a need.

reply

Not true.
1. Mobile networks go down lots of times(Google X carrier down over weekend)
2. If you live in hurricane or tornado zones, those landlines are a life saver. cell towers don't have backup generators, while POTS do at the CO.

The thing about this movie that peed me off was when the phone got wet and she started to panic about pictures. EVERY cell phone OS backs up photos to a cloud service.

reply

That'd be an extra bill to pay and they're already paying for the cell phone. Just walk outside, I know many people who have to do that.
