Already been done

NBC already did this show six years ago, and Kings barely lasted a single season. Does ABC really think their version will fare any better? Romeo + Juliet got a lot of flack for being a modern retelling, so Kings may have suffered for the same reason, but then, reviews didn’t really seem to indicate that as the primary reason for its poor performance. Does ABC they really think that making Of Kings and Prophets a period piece instead of a contemporary remake will allow it to last?

I guess we’ll find out soon enough.
