As a European ...

I would not recommend this film to any native European or American.Maybe the Indians liked this movie but from me only 3/10 due to true events.

Yeah, as soon as you see that a movie is made in India, you can forget the rating.
It is a pity, because with their way of upvoting every indian film, they make sure most-non indians avoid them all together.
And it is a pity, because I have seen one or two indian movies i really liked and one ore two I couldn't bare watching. All 8+ here on IMDB.
So thanks to the upvote-army, I'll never find out if there are others I might like.

As a person of Indian origin who watches Bollywood movies quite frequently, I agree with you about the up-voting. It's a shame. A number of times, I have been led to believe that a movie is really good based on the IMDb rating and been let down by the movie itself.

I think the best option for people wanting to know which movies are worth watching is to read the reviews and recommendations on blogs such as FilmiGeek, Beth Loves Bollywood and Memsaab Story, because they are written from a non-Indian perspective and might resonate more with non-Indian viewers.
