Why put that in the dialogue when the actor is obviously older?

The actors are about 2-3 years apart in real life, so they're roughly around the same age. And its not like characters ages have to be the exact age of the actor.
shareHe looks closer to 50 (to me), she looks closer to 40. That's enough of a visual incongruence for that bit of the dialogue not to make sense (again, to me).
