First episode wasn't funny to me at all...

Seems a little forced and just didn't touch a funny bone for me; then I watched the second ep. but it wasn't much funnier either. I honestly can't fathom what's so amazing about this show to most -- it seems a little contrived. I admit there are funny moments here and there, but overall it feels like it's trying too hard to be funny and I just see it as forced. Don't get me wrong -- I don't hate it or anything, but I can't really see what's so great about it across many different aspects; like plenty of the characters aren't all too funny (Jordan Peele just doesn't amuse me), though a few are sometimes. I found the birthday horror episode kind of funny, but it seemed like they left out too much or didn't get creative enough with the situation to actually make me laugh out loud or such.

On more than a few occasions, some scenes felt like they were trying too hard to come off as funny that they weren't; an example would be the car broken down scene and several of the moments between Colleen, Matt & Chad. I realize they're trying, but when it's so blatant and forced of an attempt, it just seems to fall short for me.

Basically, to me it feels like the show is missing some element to it.

I give it a solid 5.5 because it's a sliver better than average to me, but I don't think I'll be watching much more.

Just to add, I've seen every episode and my opinion about it is still pretty much the same. Zoe Lister-Jones and Colin Hanks have the best scenes, but other than that I'm afraid it's not very appealing to me and hasn't been improving much at all. If anything, both of the latter should have their own show; that might be funnier to me!

The reality is that feminism is what makes us all equal.

I respect your opinion, but I disagree. Love it!

This is a perfect series.

I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked.

It really takes a couple episodes, I am a new dad so the stories with the new parents I completely relate to, my buddie has been married for a while and has older children, so he can relate.

I didn't like the format of the show at 1st, but around episode 4 or so they figured it out and the stories would build upon each other. It's now my favorite sitcom.
