Is There Room For Another "Modern Family" On Network Television...???

I saw the pilot for this show last night, and it's off to a good start. I've seen a few shows like this over the past ten years or so on network television- that follow along the same vein as "Modern Family" where you have multiple story lines going on at one time involving the same extended family, and most of these shows get cancelled in the first season or so. I'm hoping this one will stick around for a little while, but CBS has been known to cancel a network sitcom in only a few episodes, like that short-lived show with Tony Shalhoub last year- can't think of the name of that- with the divorced guys all living in the same apartment complex-?? And this one has a good cast- Colin Hanks, Zoe Lister Jones, Dianne Wiest, James Brolin, etc..- hopefully that crazy dad Brolin will be used a little more in future episodes-??

Sorry...Modern Family has nothing to worry about. I've already forgotten what night this show is on.

I think this is more akin to Arrested Development than Modern Family.

I thought last night's episode was pretty funny, but overall have not been terribly impressed. I'm guessing it won't last more than a season. I can see the AD connection other than this family not being part of the "wealthy elite"-??

You say that as if Mofern Family invented that?

The Office. Parks and Rec. Community. Deadpans at the camera. Flash interview segments with characters. Multiple story lines. MF is nothing new and it's grown super stale...that's what happens when the writing fizzles and you rely on comedy devices.

I can't stand Modern Family. But I love this show. I hope it get 5+ seasons!

I'm growing tired of Modern Family.

I like this show. CBS doesn't show it on a regular basis to get it on my radar.

If I didn't have a DVR I'd miss this show all together
