Surely this awful series will be cancelled?

Seems like CBS will cancel, as expected, this series, judging by the speed with which they are airing it, very few breaks. Already 20 out of 22 episodes filmed have aired.

I also wonder why such A list stars like Dianne Wiest and Betsy Brandt have joined this horrible series, must be huge money CBS offered. It sure isn't quality writing.

Since it is the highest rated new comedy of the season, the odds of it being canceled are slim. They are speeding through the episodes to make room for The Odd Couple.

reply

If those who don't like it stop watching it's like it was cancelled, ijs.

reply

I think it's hilarious!! ??

reply

Me too. The finale was hysterical.

Are you asking or telling?

reply

...and yes, it is hilarious.

Do you want to see an example of bad writing? Here is a perfect example:

'Life In Pieces' Takes a 'Modern Family' Turn Toward Garbage Town

http://www.pajiba.com/tv_reviews/life-in-pieces-takes-a-modern-family-turn-toward-garbage-town.php

As too often happens with family sitcoms, however, the groove that Life in Pieces found quickly turned into a rut, and rather than building out the characters, Justin Adler and his writing room zeroed in on one or two traits in each character and exaggerated them, like in Friends, after the writers discovered that the audience reacted well to Joey’s love of sandwiches and made Joey’s love of sandwiches his defining characteristic. They have Joey’d Life in Pieces.

Last season, the sitcom managed to mine a few truths about parenting, tease out the occasional heartwarming moment, and take full advantage of its stellar cast: Colin Hanks, Betsy Brandt, Thomas Sadowski, Zoe Lister-Jones, Dan Bakkedahl, Angelique Cabral, Dianne Wiest, and James Brolin. This season, it’s gone broad and the results have been increasingly ugly. Sadwoski and Cabral are stuck in the stages of a relationship routine (moving in together, their engagement, wedding planning, etc.); Colin Hanks is now Dumb Stay-at-Home Dad; Zoe Lister-Jones offers nothing but cynical wisecracks (unless she’s dreaming about sleeping with her mother-in-law); Bakkedahl is the super creepy, ogling Dad; Brandt is the dimwitted mom; and Dianne Wiest and James Brolin are either talking about sex or taking turns as the oblivious grandparent.

While the first season of Life in Pieces could hold its own with the first season of Modern Family, the second season of Life in Pieces has quickly deteriorated into seventh season Modern Family. It’s cliches and stereotypes and recycled jokes, and while it is still a single-camera comedy, it’s taken on the tenor of CBS’s laugh-track comedies. This week’s episode hit rock bottom. Hanks struggled to gain the attention of his infant daughter by trying to make her jealous by playing with a stranger’s kid; Sadowski sought th

You have crappy taste.

Without a doubt.

Wrong again, as usual, fuzz fetcher. Life In Pieces will be renewed for Season 2. I honestly doubt it makes it past Season 2 though. That's not the show's fault either, CBS will kill the show next season. You'll see.

reply

We sure HOPE they get off their butts and renew this. It has quickly become our favorite comedy, since Mike & Molly is MIA and Big Bang Theory has stagnated somewhat. We were very disappointed that they didn't announce early renewal when they did for so many other shows.

reply

In answer to the question; I hope so too.

Across the generations; this show has failed. My parents like Mike & Molly, used to watch 2.5 men, and Big Bang. I like the Big Bang. My son and daughter like Big Bang. None of us like Life in Pieces or 2 Broke Girls.

The Big Bang has stagnated and I can tolerate an entire ep and usually see the humor. The other CBS shows; nope.

***If someone sights the #s on this thread, then there should be a link or citation to back up the #s.***

Some shows are better than others and when people start making their wishes known, then the Networks will comply. Chuck Lorre has scored for CBS twice; so hand over the comedy programming to him. 2.5 Men & Big Bang are nothing alike; so he could either be directly involved or consult for shows to bring up CBS comedies before CBS loses the audience that 2.5 Men & Big Bang have developed.

This & 2 Broke Girls shouldn't even be compared to each other. 2BG plays on cheesy jokes and sarcastic punchlines. Life in Pieces is real life humor that seems effortless. Love it so much

Remember when I told you my boss was a sniper?

reply

We think it's really funny. Easily the best new comedy this season.
