Is this movie worth watching?

I know it is basically a copy of 'The Shaggy Dog' but instead with a cat but is this movie really that bad? Just to be clear, I love cats AND dogs so it is not just about me being a cat person. I just watched the trailer and thought it looked cute. I see they animated the movements of the cats which looks good so is this movie really worth watching? If not, then is it okay if you could point out what is so bad about this film? Spoilers are allowed, but don't spoil too much.

The entire film is abysmal. I won't go into specific details, needless to say that the direction is lazy, the acting is atrocious (Kevin Spacey treats this thing as a joke throughout the entire movie because he knows how terrible it is), cinematography (or what there is of it) has an over-reliance on terrible CGI, and the writing is crap. The plot is so weak and the movie contains no comedy whatsoever, even through its annoying attempts to relate to dumb internet gags and millenial stereotypes. Just please do yourself a favor and save the 87 minutes of your life. Take your kids to the park, have a lunch, have a picnic, or just watch a good family film at home from Amazon. Might I suggest Spirited Away? Just please don't watch this abortion of a movie.

Unless you're a total movie-snob this is a good movie. Maybe not big screen $8 a ticket good but funny with a good ending and a lesson. Each actor plays their part, Jennifer Garner is a sweet adorable mom, Kevin Spacey is a self absorbed jerk, and Christopher Walken is his awesome self! it seems like if a movie isn't loaded with innuendo, vulgarities, and violence then it's rated as not worth it...

Not in the theater. It actually would have been a really good movie, but the atrocious CGI ruins it. It's not even bad in a funny way, which I think it what they are trying to convince the audience they are doing. The acting was good as you'd expect from this cast (props to the two girls in the movie, not that their roles were especially challenging, but they performed well) and it was a good script. So watch it on the small screen and you may appreciate it more.

If you don't believe in reincarnation, but can just pretend something else, then yes it is worth watching. It has a great message, very funny scenes and if you are into movies with no serious profanity and very little profanity at all, then this is also what makes this a film worth watching.

The only saving grace for me, was Christopher Walken. The cat's horrible screeching got old very quickly. It wasn't a terrible movie, but I'm glad I didn't pay to see it.

I expected the worst, I made a rash assumption that this would be a brainless fluff piece family movie!

Oddly enough however I was way off base and the movie turned out to be heartfelt, likeable and even quite funny in places.

Well worth a watch, but it does help if you're a cat person 🐱
