So, what's up with the doctor? [spoilers]

***Again, Spoiler Alert***


When we come to the end, where the doctor is about to operate on the dealer, you expect two different outcomes:

1. She lets go of her pride, admits that she's too stressed out to do the operation, and hands it over to the other surgeon.
2. She goes on with the operation, saves the dealer's life, and redeems herself as a doctor.

BUT what happens is that she insists, again, to do the operation, and puts the dealer in a permanent vegetative state! What's more, the last shot is of the disabled dealer laying next to another guy who's similarly disabled. Now my questions are:

A. Had she also operated on that other guy?
B. If A is a yes, does this mean that she's a full-blown psychopath who's totally blind to her faults as a surgeon?
C. Had she purposely injured the dealer? To make sure he's put out of trouble, and to make up for the prior mistake she'd made (when she let him use the phone)i

To me, the movie went off the rails starting with the shootout. A lot of it was entertaining, and I like it when a movie thwarts our expectations. But it felt like a lot of the decisions went nowhere, pointing to a lack of vision and direction on To's part.
